Chat Guide

Virtual Companion Chat
Text chat runs in your chat console at pay.virtualcompanionchat.com/chat-console. Sign in with the same username and password you use on the billing terminal. Billing never happens inside the chat — you still bill on the terminal.

1. A client asks for a chat

They fill in the short form on the website. The request lands in three places at once: your chat console, your CRM inbox, and your email.

Nothing starts until you act on it. There is no time limit.

2. Send them the code

Open the request in your console and click ✉ Send code. That emails the client an 8-character chat code.

They enter that code on the chat page and the thread opens. Send the code when you are ready to talk, not before.

3. The thread stays open

Once a thread is open it is permanent. It stays there, with its full history, until you click Close chat.

A client can come back to the same thread days later. Closing it is the only thing that ends it.

4. Starting a Premium Chat

Paid chat is now called Premium Chat everywhere the client sees it. Messages are free; a Premium Chat session is the billed one.

Find the one that matches your situation and follow it.

Chat + call

They are on the phone with you and want to chat during the call — and maybe go back to the call after.

1
Press ✉ Send code after they request the chat. That captures their confirmation.
✓
That’s it. The call is already running on the terminal — carry on as normal.
Chat

No phone call — the whole session is text.

1
Press ✉ Send code after they request the chat.
2
When you are both ready, press 🔥 Invite to Premium Chat. That sends them the invitation and opens the agreement on their screen in one press. (⏱ Premium Chat START does the agreement on its own if you would rather write your own line first.) They acknowledge on their end. On the billing terminal ↗ Pick Chat, then press ▶ Start Live Session once the acknowledgment comes through.
3
When you are finished, press ⏹ Premium Chat END. On the billing terminal ↗ Press ■ End Session, then Finalize Call.
Nothing is charged by pressing invite or START. The session begins only when the client types their name and agrees — and the money still moves on the terminal, never in the chat.
Ending a Premium Chat does not end the thread. The thread stays open for next time. Two different buttons, two different things.

5. What to pick on the terminal

Pick the one that matches the session:

6. Voice notes

Press the 🎤 button next to the message box. It starts recording straight away and stops itself at 60 seconds.

When you stop, you hear it back before anything is sent. If you do not like it, press Re-record. When you are happy, press Send voice note.

The client gets it locked. They can play the first 5 seconds free. During a running Premium Chat session the rest is included — one tap and it opens. Outside a session it is $0.99: we text them a one-time link (or email it), they tap to confirm, and the card already on their chat is charged. Your half of every paid unlock is on your pay report.

You can also send a voice note to a client who is not in a chat, from their profile (🎤 Send a voice note). It lands in their chat and we email them a link to come and hear it.

Your browser will ask for microphone permission the first time. If you refuse it, the button will tell you so — turn it back on in your browser settings.

6a. Recordings — sell what you record

Press 🎧 Recordings on the terminal. This is where you put a recording up for sale — up to 30 minutes. Reading one of your own blog posts aloud is the easy one: the words are already written, and the client gets to hear you say them.

🎤 New recording, then either record right there or upload one you already made (MP3, M4A, WAV or OGG — from BandLab, a voice memo, anything). Pick a topic, give it a title, and type a few words about what it is. Press ✨ Write my listing and the listing text is written for you, search-friendly — edit anything you like. Then choose where the free 10-second preview starts (type a time like 1:20 and press ▶ Hear the preview), and Publish.

You do not set a price. Recordings are $2.99 a minute of length, rounded up to the next whole minute — a 4½-minute reading is 5 minutes, $14.95. The terminal shows you the price and your half before you publish.

The moment you publish it appears in three places: the Recordings section on your own page, your listing page at pay.virtualcompanionchat.com/recordings/yourname, and the master recordings page, where clients filter by companion, topic and length. Every client also has a 🎧 Recordings & custom requests link in their chat. They buy with the card already on their chat, confirming by a one-time link to their phone, and they download and keep the file.

Custom requests. A client can ask for something recorded just for them — from their chat, from your page, or from the master page. Every request lands in your 📥 Messages, e-mails your real address, and shows under Custom requests in your Recordings panel.

If it came from your chat: type how many minutes you will record and press Send quote — the price is the same $2.99 a minute. They approve it from their phone; nothing is recorded until it is paid. When it says PAID — record it, press 🎤 Record this (or upload the file). Only that client can ever hear it, it goes straight into their chat, and we e-mail them that it is there.

If it came from a page, they have no chat with you yet, so there is no card to quote against. Reply from Messages, use 💬 Invite to chat, and quote it from the Recordings panel once they are in. You can Decline anything you do not want to record.

Half of every sale is yours, on the same pay report as your calls, with the same 10% reserve. Be honest with yourself about length: the client is paying for the minutes, so a 12-minute reading with 4 minutes of silence in it will not get you a second sale.

Clients can tick a box to be e-mailed when you post a new recording, and another to be e-mailed when you turn Available. Every recording you publish goes out to everyone who asked. That is a reason to publish regularly.

7. Your Messages

What used to be called your Inbox is now Messages, at pay.virtualcompanionchat.com/inbox (also the 📥 Messages button on the terminal).

You can now start a message, not just reply to one. Press ✎ New message and either pick one of your own clients or type an email address. You can attach photos the same way as a reply.

Both the reply box and the new-message box have an 💬 Invite to chat button. It drops your own chat link into the message as ordinary text, so you can reword it before you send.

Client email addresses are always shown to you part-hidden, like j****@example.com. That is deliberate. The message still reaches the real address.

8. What your client sees

Worth knowing, because they may ask you about it.

9. Bringing in another companion

Press + Add companion in the console and pick who you want.

They get an email and a text, and a line appears in the thread saying you added them. Both of you can then reply.
